The Road to Truth

“There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth. Not going all the way and not starting.” -Buddha

I have ben pondering with the idea and feelings of being stuck, stagnant, still, and surviving… With stay at home orders active and the COVID19 crisis, it is such a time as this, that we are being called to stillness. Feeling like a cat trapped inside a bird’s cage… Truth calls and is knocking in the hearts of many… Will you surrender?

Surrender? Surrender to what? To the anxiety of the unknown, to panic attacks at night on remembering how much our world has shifted? Do we dare surrender to the stillness in the midst of the abyss of chaos? Truth is knocking! Truth is knocking in the middle of the night, in the questions that you hold secretly while attending to your family… What is Truth whispering?

Could it be that Truth is calling you to take that step? You were living in a hamster wheel! You use to complaint that you didn’t have enough time. You use to complaint that you were tired. But at this moment, we hold a key to open the door of change. Will you turn the knob? Will you open the door? What is on the other side?

… The Road to Truth…

We crave something, a calling and purpose, but we don’t want to be uncomfortable. We want the blessing of it, but we don’t want the responsibility. It is difficult to hold the process. As the bearer of bad news, I must declare that the road to Truth… is not pretty. The birthing process is NOT pretty, it is NOT easy, and it definitely isn’t comfortable. It is messy, dirty, uncomfortable, and exhausting… BUT it is phenomenal! The birthing of your peace, your sense of belonging, your calling and purpose is phenomenal! Do you choose to surrender to this process?

As Buddha so eloquently put it in this quote, will you make the mistake of not starting and not going all the way? We are here already! We are forced to stillness. You are hearing the knock. You are uncomfortable. You are more ready now than ever before! Jump! Tiptoe! Walk! or simply skip into your path… your road to TRUTH!

The road to Truth could be: the ability to be present to the moment, creating a routine that sustains your hopes and dreams, quitting your job, starting that business, writing that book… or that blog, going back to school, calling your estranged father, leaving that abusive relationship, starting a yoga or movement practice, speaking your truth, or just by scheduling your therapy session. It is simple! (not easy… but simple)

May you be well, safe, and find yourself on the road to Truth.
